Madonna and Child Enthroned Between St. Bassianus and St. Francis

St. Francis is identified by his tonsure and brown habit, which contrast with the mitre and capacious vestments of St. Bassianus. The baby is completely naked, a trope that came into use in the 15th century and was less common in the mid-16th.

The museum's label says the Madonna is "enthroned," but no throne is visible behind the billowing white cloth.
